My On the Job Training Picz.....

These are some pictures taken from the office where I am currently taking up my On the Job Training..

Well I'm so happy to be with these wacky and very nice people. I do have lots of experiences and I had learned a lot from the training..

Its the last day of their training so they are taking the chance to take some memories from the office..

Unfortunately, though we (Kate Dizon and I) have already reached our required time for the practicum, we were requested to conduct and Facilitate a Basic Computer Literacy Training for those people who are interested to learn something about technology.Well, so much for that, i will post another entry for my experiences and learnings facilitating the training.

Well, im just so glad that i have been a part of DAvao Employment and Resource Center.

Career Workshop Training

It was really a very unforgettable experience that I had just finished a 2-day career workshop at LDS Employment Resource Services that was conducted last May 25-26 2009. I learned a lot of things about the real world of career exploration and the experience was very helpful in me that it boost up my confidence in facing the world outside the university.

The very goal of the career workshop is to help individuals develop the skills that they need to achieve their career objectives. The workshop was divided into four modules:

MY GOALS
This unit helps us evaluate our talents, interests, and values; set goals; and develop a plan to achieve those goals. This individual plan can include goals for employment, education or self-employment.

MY RESOURCES
This unit helps us learn how to identify and develop the resources we need to reach our goals. It teaches us how to find employment leads, educational and self-employment funding, and other community services.

MY INTERACTION WITH RESOURCES
This unit helps us learn how to communicate with the resources we identified. It teaches us to make powerful impressions in interviews and present ourselves well in writing.

MY CONTINUED SUCCESS

This unit teaches us how to negotiate, grow in your position, and advance in your career.

Twenty-One

I realize one thing… I have been living in this world for 21 years and yet I can’t even enumerate 10 special things that I have accomplished as to be considered as one of the asset to this world.

Last May 09, 2009 I celebrated my 21st birthday. I was grateful enough ‘coz my loved ones (friends, family, classmates) greeted me on that special day. I could not express how happy I am to receive a hug or even a simple text message from them. My only wish for that is for me and my family to be happy and strong always.

There are 21 things that I could enumerate; these are things or the people that have played a big role in my 21 years of being alive:

21 – cellphone
20 – clothes
19 – laptop
18 – crushes
17 – school
16 – teachers / mentors
15 – money
14 – classmates
13 – relatives
12 – friends
11 – home
10 – siblings
9 – normal body
8 – knowledge
7 – water to drink
6 – food to eat
5 – being a woman
4 – life
3 – father
2 – mother
1 – God

Not everybody is given the chance to have those things or people.

OK for Ring Bind!

After several months of hardships, our group finally made it!
It’s a very wondrous feeling how we got the words “Ok for ring bind!”… I thought before that we will have another INC grade for this semester but teamwork and dedication prove it wrong…

I would like to acknowledge my groupmates… Ms. Gonzales, Ms. Gorgonio and Ms. Montejo who have had very high fighting spirit and dedication to our work and also my apologies for being rude sometimes for having you guyz always on a group meeting…
To Mr. RSG who always enlighten us and keeping us always on the right track… thank you so much sir…

Of course, great thanks to God who gave us the wisdom and courage to never give up and always giving us good health despite those consecutive sleepless nights and very long walks…

Now, is just the beginning of another long journey… we do hope that still, luck will always be on our side.
AJA!

lessons from downfalls

Way back three or four months ago, when Mrs. Rogers has been replaced by Mr. Gamboa as our instructor in the subject Systems Analysis and Design 1, I knew already that I will experience another difficult chapter of my life (doomsday!!!). The orientation was quite short and the lecture time took us only one day to finish the whole reference book, amazing isn’t it? But then, I wasn’t so surprise by this kind of teaching method of Mr. RSG… what shocked me the most was the major paper outline given to us to accomplish or to submit with in the span of only three months… looking and thinking of that outline before gives me a super duper headache.

After almost over two months of constructing our major paper, I am so happy to see the development of the different areas of my life. The face to face consultations with Mr. RSG is the most exciting and breathe taking part of this, but this is the part where I learned so much, not just by making or constructing a SAD research paper but the face to face consultation is molding us to become a great soon-to-be Systems Analyst. I realized that, personal experience and real life downfalls are very good factors for us to learn on how to become a good Systems Analyst.

Another part of me that was developed with this activity is my ability to collaborate and cooperate with the team. Mostly, in all the things I do, I love to do it on my own, I don’t want others meddling with my work same is true that I don’t want to blame anybody for my failure. But with this activity (SAD proposal submission/consultation), I learned how important it is to work with the team, how workloads are lessen when you have your teammates, how comforting it is to know that you have teammates who believes in you and trust you as a leader, and you have your teammates with you who will fight ‘till the end of the battle.

Honestly, though sometimes we have been into small fights, I am so happy knowing that we are one in this project;

We think as one.
We work as one.
We fight as one.
